Rita is an Irish Artist and Designer. She has a first class honours degree in Art & Design, Textiles from GMIT, Galway.
Inspired by natural and urban themes, Rita is probably best known for her drawings of Birds and Butterflies, which she has reproduced in a stunning collection of silk scarves and ties. Each design has its own story, for example, ‘Birds on the wheel’ , is about migratory birds and ‘Butterfly circle’, is about moths or butterflies that are attracted to the light and to flowers. When seen together its magic.
Rita is also in the process of developing her product range and making dresses, tops, skirts and mens pocket squares. Check out regular updates on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/ritawhiteart.ie/
Rita works meticulously creating the designs that are then printed on silk. A lot of research and product development has been undertaken to ensure that the best quality silk has been sourced. Through careful sampling, Rita ensures that all fabrics selected are the most suitable to the designs. The thick silks chosen are in satin and twill which are very luxurious. A hand rolled hem beautifully finishes each silk scarf. Rita also renders her prints on other fabrics like cotton/silk and wool/modal mixes.
Every individual piece has it’s own concept and each item is a limited edition thereby ensuring uniqueness. Furthermore, each purchase is presented to you, in a quality gift box.
